Auxiliary Classes:
Library:
Students attend Library classes with Mrs. Jamie Fry at the end of 2nd grade hall. Students are allowed to return and check out new books each week. Books can also be exchanged each morning before 7:45. For more information about the Library, please visit our Library page.
Computer:
Computer classes are held in the Computer Lab at the end of the 3rd grade hall with Ms. Erin Grantham. Most often, students visit their favorite math sites, Prodigy and Sumdog. Lessons on internet safety are given several times a year. Students also study Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, typing, PowerPoint, and other skills in the computer lab. Music:
Music classes are held in the auxiliary section of 3rd grade hall with Ms. Lawanda Beasley. Ms. Beasley introduces students to a variety of types of music and dance. They learn about music varying from classical compositions to blues and jazz to African spirituals to seasonal, holiday, and patriotic songs.
Guidance:
Guidance classes are held on 2nd grade hall. Each homeroom attends classes with either Ms. Mellissa McTizic or Mrs. Amy Sain each week. Classes focus on social skills, safety, bullying, health, feelings, careers, and many other areas. More information about our counseling program can be found on the School Counseling page.
STEM:
STEM classes are held on the 3rd grade hall with Mr. Randy Gatlin. Students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Students enjoy conducting experiments on a wide-range of topics.
P.E.:
P.E. is held in the gym and playroom. Students in all grades participate in physical education activites led by Mr. Manse Pulliam. Students enjoy getting to find new ways to be physically active.
Writing:
Writing is held in the writing lab with Mrs. Bernice Murphy. Students in grades 2-5 learn how to write information, narrative, and persuasive essays.
